Welcome to Grafham water Open Water Swimming, run by Swimcube Open Water. This beautiful reservoir is finally open for open water swimming. You can book your swim through the Wild App now!

What to bring

Please ensure you have all your kit with you including, brightly coloured swim hats (no black, dark blue, white or red hats will be permitted) a tow float if you are swimming in skins. Brightly coloured swim hats and dippy tow floats can be purchased or hired on site. Please bring warm cloathing for after your swim.

We will have a limited number of wetsuits for hire which will be available on a first come first served basis. Wetsuit hire is £5 for the session and can paid at the swim hut.

You will be required to wash your wet suit upon exiting the water.

Discounted parking is available for swimmers at £1 per session. Please bring £1 and collect your exit parking ticket at the Swim Hut or the Visitors Centre.

Itinerary

Please arrive 15 minutes before your start time to allow for check in time and getting ready to go in the water.

We are running a wrist band safety system with Wild so when you arrive at the swim hut you will be issued with a band which will be scanned upon entry to the water by a member of staff. You will be scanned again upon exiting the water.

Requirements

All swimmers are required to be able to swim 200m without stopping (this can be any stroke).

Tow floats are mandatory if you are swimming in skins and all swimmers need to wear a brightly coloured swim hat. 

We are delighted to welcome swimmers as young as 8 to swim at Grafham Water but prior consent is required from SWIMCUBE Open Water Limited. Swimmers between the age of 8 to 16 must be accompanied in the water by a nominated adult swimmer aged over 18 and by a responsible adult on land if swimming with a pod. Consent of Parent / Legal guardian on site. They will need to wear wetsuits, brightly coloured tow floats (supplied free of charge) are compulsory for this age group to enable the safety team to identify them and keep them under constant observation.

There are outdoor showers on the waters edge, you will be required to wash your wetsuit upon exit from the water.
